Behavioral/Play Therapy

Behavioral & Play Therapy supports emotional regulation, social communication, and positive behavior through purposeful, age-appropriate engagement. In Early Intervention, play therapy utilizes a child’s natural language, play, to help them process feelings, develop coping strategies, and express themselves in a safe space. We focus on identifying triggers, teaching self-calming techniques, and supporting positive interactions with family members. As the child transitions to Preschool Services, therapy evolves to address emerging social and behavioral expectations. We work on managing frustration, navigating peer dynamics, developing flexibility during transitions, and building self-monitoring skills so children can successfully engage in structured group environments and home routines.
